Modern homes are for modern families. Having an open floor plan creates one large living space for the whole family to enjoy. There are not separations from the main living areas instead of the rooms transition into each other seamlessly. The reason an open floor plan is important to this design is that it creates a natural flow throughout the house. Also, it allows all of the natural lighting to carry throughout the home without and barriers.
Natural Lighting
This style of home often compliments the landscape and connects with the natural environment. The large floor to ceiling windows connects the indoor living spaces with outdoor living spaces, for instance. The natural lighting is invited in and helps to light the home and warm the space. Unlike homes where the windows are small portals and artificial lighting is excessively needed.
Flat Roofs
Like I mentioned before modern style homes complement their surroundings. The flat roof is meant to help the home blend in with the natural surroundings. This style of architecture is meant to take a modern approach to how we integrate our built environment into the natural environment. Instead of contrasting the environment, the intention is to compliment it.
Clean Aesthetic
The clean horizontal and vertical lines in this design are defining characteristics of a modern home. To complement the structure of the home we chose a chic color scheme of black and white.
