Alfresco Spa Ideas

Alfresco (Outdoor) Spa:

Do you enjoy going to the spa and taking advantage of the tranquility and peaceful sanctuary that it has to offer? Why not bring the spa to your house and have all of your favorite spa elements just steps away?! At Fratantoni Design, one concept that our luxury home architects have been implementing in design plans is an alfresco spa. Alfresco means outdoor and located in the open air.

Create an outdoor living area that brings the best of both worlds: relaxation and nature. One common outdoor spa feature is a hot tub, however, depending on your location, this feature may not be able to be used as often as you would like. While designing your custom home, adding a little piece of paradise is important! Below are ideas we have seen while designing masterpiece mansions!

A patio with a table and chairs and a fountain in the background.

Water Features:

Bring the sound of relaxation straight to your backyard with a water feature! A fountain is a great addition to a backyard oasis to create a relaxing environment. If you find that you are in an area with unwanted noises of cars passing by or noisy neighbors, a water fountain can subdue the noise. The great thing about fountains is they have a plethora of materials and architectural designs, so you can find the perfect one to match your yard.

Retractable Roof:

An outdoor spa often has a few different features. Another common feature we see with incredible architectural design elements is adding a retractable roof. This gives you the ability to take advantage of the weather at any point throughout the year. If you want to sit in an outdoor bath and watch the stars at night, you are able to. Or if you want to lay out in your spa area and get some sun, you are able to do that as well!

Outdoor Shower/Baths:

Outdoor showers and/or baths are another excellent addition to your outdoor spa. Achieve superior elevated relaxation with a secluded spa area with natural materials and foliage. Materials such as stone add a nature effect and rustic nature looks are achieved with wood and blackened steel. You still have the privacy of a spa but right in the backyard oasis of your own home.

There is a waterfall in the background and a shower in the foreground.

Create your own alfresco spa and achieve relaxation right in the backyard of your own home! Check out more of our custom home architects ideas in our blog here.
